The Dutch full-back was strongly linked with a move to Benfica last week as the Portuguese giants wanted Malacia on a six-month loan deal, according to . , however, reports that the youngster's move to Portugal has collapsed after Manchester United failed to reach an agreement with the club. He will instead head back to his homeland, joining PSV Eindhoven on a short-term loan deal, although the Dutch club have an option to buy.

According to Fabrizio Romano's latest report, PSV have agreed to cover the player's full salary until the end of the season. A €10 million (£8m) buy option has been included but it is not mandatory. The Red Devils also has a 30 per cent sell-on clause included in the deal.
