Sheffield Wednesday failed to bounce back from their disappointing Steel City derby defeat to Sheffield United on Sunday as they were beaten 1-0 by Championship strugglers Birmingham City at St Andrew’s on Wednesday night, and Owls fans weren’t impressed with Adam Reach’s performance.

Manager Carlos Carvalhal knew that he needed a reaction from his side following their 4-2 home defeat by the Blades at the weekend, with Reach keeping his place in the starting XI but moving from left-back to a more natural left-wing position.

The visitors couldn’t find a breakthrough though and they were punished 14 minutes from time when Isaac Vassell scored what proved to be the winning goal.

Sheffield Wednesday supporters were quick to have their say on Reach’s showing via social media, with some describing him as “the worst player in the squad”, and others saying he is “another player CC has ruined”.
