Tottenham fans were furious when they didn’t sign a midfielder this summer, and a whopping 87 per cent of fans want to move for Guinean wonderkid Amadou Diawara when the transfer window opens in January.

Tottenham were heavily linked with a move for Tanguy Ndombele during the summer transfer window, and it’s pretty clear that Mauricio Pochettino is on the hunt for a successor to the ageing Mousa Dembele.

The Belgian fan favourite has been wonderful since making the switch from Fulham in 2012, scoring seven times in 179 Premier League appearances.

However, the 31 year-old has shown his age in the last couple of weeks, following up a solid showing at Old Trafford with a tired performance in the defeat at Watford.

A move for Diawara makes perfect sense, as the Napoli ace is young enough to develop more under Pochettino, is extremely smart with the ball at his feet and absolutely loves a tackle.

The 21 year-old struggled for game time with the Italian outfit last season due to the form of Jorginho, and the arrival of Spanish wonderkid Fabian Ruiz isn’t going to help his chances either.
